New Exhibition "In the Name of Love"
February 7 to November 7, 2012
Love was and is one of the principal themes in art. Humans have a need to express love, and the pain of love, in a tangible form. Literature, music, paintings and sculptures created over the centuries are testimony of their never-ending attempts. The exhibition at the Alexander Tutsek Foundation deals with the many facets of love from a very special perspective: not only the bright, the welcome part of love is explored, but so is its hidden, secretive, and dark side.

In the Name of Love
New catalogue
The publication presents a collection of contemporary sculpture created by international artists working in glass and mixed media. Taking the theme of In the Name of Love, they explore and present love and the pain that comes with love in sensual, poetic, and sometimes cheeky and provocative ways. The catalogue documents the exhibition to be held at the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung in 2012.

Publication
Private Art Museums in the German-Speaking Region
A practical mix between museum and travel guide, this handy and richly illustrated publication introduces more than 60 private collections of contemporary and modern art in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, among them the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung. All of the places included, many of which were specifically designed for private collections, are open to the public. For the most part, they are true insiders’ tips the general public is unaware of. Many of them did not open until 2010.
In addition to exciting facts about the numerous collectors, the exhibitions and the architecture of the structures, Privatzugang provides plenty of valuable information for art aficionados such as opening hours, how to get there, admission fees, as well as other nearby highlights.

This Side of Africa
Book Presentation
The new book of photographs by Eva-Maria Fahrner-Tutsek Diesseits von Afrika / This Side of Africa will be introduced together with the exhibition. Eva-Maria Fahrner-Tutsek took most of the photographs over the past two to three years on the islands of Ibiza and Formentera. The African continent is not far from here. The imagery reveals hidden emotions without necessarily wanting to attract attention. The psychologist shows in her works the world as it is but creates an atmosphere in which the everyday and the random have something irritating. She deliberately allows the viewers space.

FROZEN-IN TENSION
A Visitor from Japan
Yoshiaki Kojiro made a small detour from Eskişehir, Turkey, where he was taking part in a symposium, to Munich in October. His work Be — on view in the exhibition Frozen-in Tension — continues to impress and amaze visitors. His specially developed technique of foaming and slumping lets people forget that they are looking at an object of glass. Kojiro was interested in turn in the works of European artists such as Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová, Ann Wolff, and Bohumil Eliáš.
