Special Show Exempla 2012
Internationale Handwerksmesse München l 14 – 20 March 2012
The Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung was invited to participate in Exempla 2012. Exempla 2012 is a special exhibition within the framework of the Internationale Handwerksmesse München. With this year’s theme Glass—A Crafts Material between Tradition and Innovation, it spans the range from the material glass as a thousands-year-old design element for glass professions to the use of glass in art and innovative glass materials in the crafts. The technical and aesthetic characteristics of this material combine in a congenial manner. The exhibition illustrates the many-sided uses of glass in contemporary architecture, interior design, in the refurbishment and restoration of old buildings, as well as its immense significance for glass professions such as stained-glass makers, glassblowers, glass engravers, glass cutters, and glass instrument makers.
One focus of Exempla 2012 is the presentation of international studio glass. The Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung will be introducing selected works from its collection. On view will be sculptures and objects from Germany, France, Australia, Japan, China, and the USA, including works by Erwin Eisch, Guan Donghai, Richard Morell, Christian Schmidt, Bertil Vallien, Ann Wolff, and many others.
