We are preparing our next exhibition. Entitled Primäre Gesten / Primary Gestures it will show photographs from China by Robert Rauschenberg and works in glass.
The exhibition Viewing the Other was on view for ten months and Havana Short Shadows for four months. The Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung can look back on numerous interested visitors, high media interest, and inspiring events in this time.
The exhibitions Viewing the Other (Tue-Fri 2-6 pm) and Havana Short Shadows (Fri 2-6 pm) end on 16 November 2018. On the final exhibition days both exhibitions are free of charge. Take advantage of these last few days to see sculptures of glass by renowned artists such as Tony Cragg, Kiki Smith, and Mona Hatoum (exhibition Viewing the Other) as well as selected photographs from the recently published book Havana Short Shadows by Eva-Maria Fahrner-Tutsek.
In October 2018 award winners and scholarship holders of the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung met in Göttingen. Representatives from the Bildungs- und Forschungszentrum Keramik (BFZK e.V.) with four educational institutions in Höhr-Grenzhausen and Koblenz as well as the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology came together.

Following the successful awarding of scholarships for Pilchuck Glass School to artists in early 2018, the foundation is now continuing its support program. In 2019, it will again award five scholarships to artists working with the material glass. The scholarship allows artists to participate in a course at the world-renowned Pilchuck Glass School near Seattle, USA. Application deadline is 8 December 2018.
The Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung provides on-going support to four research and educational institutions for ceramics in Höhr-Grenzhausen and Koblenz. The financial support allows these institutions to buy technical equipment required for their ceramic courses. In addition, the foundation awards prize money for outstanding achievements in training courses as well as scholarships for particularly good achievements in courses of study.
On the launch of the new photobook Havana Short Shadows by Eva-Maria Fahrner-Tutsek, the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung presents a selection of photographs. Until 16 November 2018 the photographs will be on view at the same time as the exhibition Viewing the Other (friday 2 pm to 6 pm). The fascinating imagery impressively illustrates Havanna’s street life and documents survival in a society whose politics, trade, and communication have been restricted for a long time.
On the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of BISS e.V., the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung is supporting an art action of the nonprofit association. On 30 June 2018 the installation I will be with you, whatever opened in the heart of Munich at Wittelsbacherplatz. The British artist duo Morison has designed a sculpture of wood, steel, and a silver material, which partially veils the monument of Maximilian I.
The three-part exhibition series Photography Today: Artistic Photography in the Digital Age at Pinakothek der Moderne will be continued on 15 June 2018. Entitled Private Public Relations, the second exhibition addresses the relationship between photographic imagery and the social realm.
Due to the great interest expressed by our visitors and the positive response from the press, we are extending the exhibition Viewing the Other to 16 November 2018. We look forward to welcoming you in the exhibition or at one of our guided tours!
