The Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung has initiated two new funding projects in the context of its support of research and teaching in branches of the engineering sciences. At the University of Koblenz-Landau and the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, a University of Resources, the foundation is supporting the research of three female students and one male student with doctoral scholarships.
On the occasion of the leading international trade fair ceramitec (10 to 13 April 2018), the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung invited scholarship holders, professors, as well as staff from supported ceramic institutions to the foundation’s galleries.
The current exhibition Viewing the Other shows three sculptures by Raimund Kummer, which are representative of his oeuvre. In the artist talk he discusses his work as a whole and places the presented works in the context of the exhibition.
At the beginning of this year the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung supported the two artists with their diploma projects at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München. From 7 to 29 April 2018 they are showing their final-year works as well as new pieces in the exhibition entitled Hold the Line at the Neue Galerie Landshut, which is located in a Gothic building called Stadel on Mühleninsel.
At the opening of the new exhibition Viewing the Other, visitors were pleased to see the artists Kiki Smith from New York, USA and Ki-Ra Kim from Seoul, South Korea. Both are represented by impressive works in the theme exhibition. Dr. Petra Giloy-Hirtz held the introductory talk. You will find an excerpt of her talk here.
The new exhibition of the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung has opened!
The following events await you in the upcoming months:
The new exhibition at the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung has been installed and will be on view starting 26 January 2018. Entitled Viewing the Other, it presents impressive sculptures and installations by internationally renowned artists such as Tony Cragg, Mona Hatoum, Ki-Ra Kim, Raimund Kummer, Alejandra Seeber, Kiki Smith, and Pae White.
After a ten-month viewing-period the exhibition lebenswelt | life-world came to an end in October. The large number of visitors and the consistently positive feedback from the press made it one of the most successful exhibitions organized by the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung.
Some excerpts from our guestbook:
The Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung participated in the Long Night of Munich Museums this year again. For the first time the foundation offered a special afternoon program for children as well. It included a child-oriented guided tour in which children came in contact with artworks made of glass for the first time.
